Colton

Tonight I made a quick trip to the grocery store with Carter and Colton. Todd played tennis last week and so his tennis racket was still in the van. As we were driving, Colton told Carter, "Stuff from the 90's and old stuff like this tennis racket is really valuable."

Yep, Colton - that antique tennis racket is probably worth some big money!

Collins found Hunter's Lego head in the garage and wanted to try it one this weekend.

This was Holden ready to go to church Sunday evening. I loved the vest...but couldn't coax a smile out of him.

Today

It is fun to be a mommy. Today had some sweet moments. It was a very pretty day in Houston so we played outside. Todd convinced me to ride a bike for a little while.

Then tonight after a shower, I put on my sweats and Collins and I painted toenails. Collins loves this! She tells her brothers, "Don't touch them. They have to dry."

Older brothers' influence

Tonight we had some friends over for dinner. They have two little girls - one of whom is close in age to Collins. During the course of the evening Collins asked, "Hannah, want to watch Duck Dynasty?" I found it very funny because Collins's interest in that show must come from her big brothers.

Colton is 7!

It is always special to celebrate a birthday and today we celebrated Colton Rapp. For his birthday, Colton invited his friend Colt to spend the night. They stayed up late, played Wii and camped out in sleeping bags in the play room.

Colton got a new Lego set and a new Hero Factory character. The excitement in the background is Colton's buddy - Colt Hurley.

Colton chose Taste of Texas for his special birthday dinner. I must admit the kid has great taste. This is hands down our favorite restaurant in Houston. It is so nice! We spent some time waiting outside until we could be seated so I took this picture of all the kids. Taste of Texas provides free nachos, popcorn and soda for customers who are waiting on a table. All the kids loved the snacks.

The restaurant gave Colton a piece of Snicker's Cheesecake to celebrate his birthday. A gentleman in the restaurant must have noticed that it was a birthday because he came over, asked how old Colton was and then handed him a dollar. Colton was so pleased!

On New Year's Day Todd got to take the boys to Winter Fest at Pine Cove Camp. The whole family was supposed to go, but Collins was sick so I stayed home with her. The day at Pine Cove was a kind invitation from Jared Schuler. The boys joined the fun for a day of games/ zip lines/ archery and time at camp. It was a cold day so they also really enjoyed the campfire.

This photo just delights my heart as a mommy. I really can't explain it, but there is such a special connection between Holden and Colton. Big brother just adores little Holden. On this particular morning, Todd had the fire going and Colton positioned Holden right next to himself to enjoy the warmth.

Collins and I spent some time playing in her room after her nap. When Todd walked in we both had bows in our hair and were playing with a baby doll.

Today at Wal-Mart I was verbally attacked by a middle-age, Asian woman. No joke. She was yelling at a Wal-Mart employee and so I stepped in to try and defend the employee. Well, this lady turned her anger on me. She was pointing her finger and telling me, "You so stupid. Shut up. You don't tell me about Jesus."
It was so crazy. Emotionally I was fine, it really didn't bother me. I just felt bad for the employee.
