Wedding Fun

We left Kanakuk on Saturday at noon and drove as far as Marshall, TX. Then on Sunday we trekked onward to Montgomery, TX because Todd was officiating a wedding for some friends from church. We had a car full of stinky Kamp laundry, but it was well worth it to be there for the Santini wedding. Just so that I remember, I must document the fact that I got all six kids and myself ready for the wedding in a high school parking lot. Yep, it was humorous!

The boys were at Kanakuk for four weeks! That is a long time to be away from them. So we were very excited when the day came to drive to Branson to pick up our kids. Todd was most excited to see how the boys had grown and changed physically, spiritually, etc. I was most excited to reunite the little one with their big brothers. It was sweet! And now it is lovely to have all our kids back under one roof. Here are a few pictures from closing ceremonies.

Two things to remember

A few years ago there was a commercial for Honey Nut Cheerios that featured a bumblebee in a cool leather jacket and with back-up dancers. They were singing and dancing to a parody of the song Must be the Money - their version was, Must be the Honey. Well, that commercial left a lasting impression on Collins. For reasons beyond my understanding, whenever she sees a skull she sings, Must be the Honey. Perhaps the bumblebee's head resembled a skull? Whatever it is, I love it! She is never frightened when she sees a skull, but instead thinks it is advertising one of her favorite cereals.

Holden can't say the word "tea" - so he says "eee" instead. He started doing this when I would drink a cup of hot tea at home. Well, now that word has expanded to mean Starbucks. Whenever we pass a Starbucks, Holden points and says, "eee!"

We spent Saturday night in a hotel. At bedtime, I put Collins and Holden in the same bed, but Holden was feeling playful and wouldn't sleep. So I moved him to the other bed and then I went in to the bathroom to dry my hair. When I came out a few minutes later Holden was standing at the edge of Collins's bed and crying, "sissy!" over and over. So I put him back in bed with Collins and minutes later he was asleep like this. It broke his heart to be separated from her. It blessed my heart to see how much he loves his sissy!
