Collins is growing older and more independent all the time. Her latest assertion of independence has to do with her hair. She does not want me to fix her hair! This makes me sad because I love fixing her hair. Now she will consent to me brushing her hair, but she does not want it pulled back or fixed in any way.
Today we had a conversation about this topic. I told her that it is fine if we don't fix her hair when we are home, but if we are going somewhere I do want to fix her hair. She was not happy about this. So I threw in a threat - and told her that she would get a spanking if she was not obedient.
Fast forward three hours to when she woke from her nap. We were getting ready to go to Colton's football scrimmage and it was time to fix Collins's hair. She looked at me and said, "I want the spanking!" I managed to keep a straight face. We left just a bit later and Collins looked adorable with her pigtails.
