Lunch on Man Day

Today at K-West was Man Day and lunch was CRAZY! The boys and counselors were already fired up, but then they played the song, "I'll Make a Man Out of You"... and the dining hall erupted. The K-West men have this funny tradition that whenever that song comes on they all begin lifting things, doing push ups, chin ups, etc. Basically they break out the muscles! I had my camera so I got some pictures!

This counselor was doing push ups...Carter jumped on for the ride.
Connor made his own barbell...two cookie bars on a fork...and began to work it out.
Collins handled all the testosterone very well. She enjoyed a bowl of cantaloupe.

Six Flags St. Louis

On our last 24 (well, actually it was more of a 34) we drove to St. Louis and took the kids to Six Flags. Last year Hunter, Connor and Carter did the Six Flags Read to Succeed program that earned them a free ticket to the park. And what were the valid dates you ask? June 18 - August 12...all while we are at K-West. So my adventure-loving and awesome husband said, "Let's go for it!" It was actually a great trip. In so many ways I saw God's faithfulness with the details of this trip. Thank you Lord for protection, safe travel, good weather, that we didn't lose any kids, etc. Here are a few picture highlights from this trip.

Six Flags is connected to Hurricane Harbor and with the admission to Six Flags, you get free admission to the water park. So we started our day there. Colton enjoyed the wave pool.
Gazing in wonder at the giant funnel water ride!
Preparing to ride the awesome water funnel!
This was a fun ride that all the boys loved.
We nearly got eaten by a shark. Whew, that was a close call!

Funny Connor!

We ate lunch at Pizza Hut on Thursday and Connor did this....it made me laugh! Isn't he clever to cover the "s" on that sign?

Fun with Cousins!

I may have mentioned in a previous post, but K-Kountry was extra special this year because the boys got to be at Kamp with their cousins. Well, the day after their term had ended, we got together with all the cousins one more time. They were staying at Big Cedar so we joined them one afternoon for some fun in the pool.

They had the best time and we stayed till nearly dinner time. Here are all the boys! Miss Emory Rapp was there as well, but didn't make this picture. From L to R, Hunter, John Blake, Connor, David Blake, Dalton Rapp, Carter and Colton.

Family

Alexis and the kiddos at K-Kountry!

Us!

It's not often that both Todd and Bronwyn are in the picture, but last night Hunter snapped this picture of us at the Western Party. I really like it.

Time to pick up our boys!

On Friday it was finally time to head to K-Kountry to see our boys after two weeks of Kamp. I LOVE the way that K-Kountry does Parents' Day. If you haven't been there, the kids are all down in a lower K-Dome and the parents walk down this hill and as parents spot kids/ kids spot parents, they come running to one another. It is awesome! We had three great moments when we found Hunter, Connor and Carter in the crowd. The boys had the best time at K-Kountry, especially because they got to be at Kamp with their cousins.

What precious memories and awesome experiences Kamp provides for our family!

I love this picture. Everyone together and Todd is listening to the first of so many Kamp stories.
Connor has a crazy arm trick.
Mom and all the boys. I may frame this picture!!
Lots of hugs! Carter was so glad to see us.
"Hey, why isn't anyone paying attention to me?"
Soccer specialty, Connor won the 110% Award for his division. Right behind Connor is cousin David Blake and he won an award too!
I missed Carter's Klinic Show, but here is a group shot of all the boys in baseball klinic.
Here are cabin photos of all the boys' cabins, after Character Qualities. This is Carter's cabin, Barn 1.
Barn 2 - with Dalton Rapp (back row, far left), David Blake (front row, second from left) and Connor (back row, far right.)
The men of Barn 6. Hunter and John Blake were together. John is right behind the pizza shirt.
Carter even made it into the skit at the Awards Ceremony.

Emory and Colton got to hang out as well!
