Sky High Sports

Yesterday I took the kids to Sky High Sports, an indoor trampoline center. I have been wanting to take the boys to one of these places for such a long time. And since Houston has everything we took advantage of their Home School Mondays deal where kids bounce for half price. Everyone had a great time and got to release some of that boundless energy that boys seem to have.

 

(Side note: I am having the hardest time with Blogger today and can't get any of the pictures to line up like normal or stay where I want them to. Crazy!)

 

Collins loved this place. She bounced non-stop and though there was a whole field of trampolines to play on, she stuck to just one trampoline the whole time! If the brothers tried to move her to another, she let them know right away that she didn't like that idea.

This place even had a whole field of trampolines that was designated as the Dodge Ball court. This was very popular with the Rapp kids!

Can't wait till this guy will be up and bouncing with the rest of the gang.

Texas Football

Today was a day full of football. We kicked off the day with Carter's flag football game in the morning and then Colton's team played after lunch. Doesn't Colton look intense?!

After the flag football game, Todd and these three hopped in the car and drove to Austin to see the Longhorns play. Todd had been given four tickets to the game and was so excited to take some of his boys. I am still waiting for them to arrive home, but from these pictures it seems that they had a great time!

Three Weeks

I can't believe that we have been in Houston for three weeks. Overall I would say that our transition has been so smooth. The kids are having a great time and we love Grace Bible Church. We have been warmly welcomed by many of the families who attend GBC. Todd's job keeps him away all day so that has been something new. I am used to having him around a lot more. We do miss our sweet Branson friends and the familiar routine of home. We have started to look at some houses in Houston. The hardest part may be simply trying to decide what part of Houston we want to live in. Todd got the new license plates for our cars this week so we are officially driving "Texas" vehicles.

A little more Texas football! Tomorrow Carter and Colton both have their very first flag football game.

In Branson, WhiteWater was "the beach within reach." But here in Houston, we really do have the beach within reach. Today we drove to Galveston Island - just about an hour away - and spent time at the beach. It was such a fun day...for the boys. OK, I had fun too but I am always fearful of the ocean. I watch constantly to make sure there are four heads above water.

Colton wanted to be buried in the sand...so we obliged!

Family Fun

We had a fun family day as we celebrated Collins's birthday. First we took the kids to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We enjoyed the exhibits, but definitely had a different opinion from most of the "evidence" in the paleontology wing. The boys had been singing Happy Birthday to Collins all morning and after each line of the song they would add, "cha, cha, cha." Pretty soon Collins began to say, "Happy duh-day, cha, cha, cha." It was really cute.

Then tonight we all went out for dinner at Maggiano's. Collins was all dressed up to celebrate her special day. We gave her a pink tricycle and she loves it. Her legs just need to be a little longer to work the pedals.

September 6th is a special day as our little princess turns two today! We love you Collins Hannah Rapp. You are such a delight to your whole family!

Houston

Here is a fun connection. Colton Rapp is playing on the same flag football team with Colton Hurley. Colton Hurley's dad is on staff at Grace Bible Church also. These boys are both named Colton, both 6 years old and both born in January!

We found a fun playground to spend time at! The boys love these - they call them the puke cages because they can really get them spinning!

Moments like these...

Some days home schooling is really hard. It makes me crazy. But sometimes we have moments like these, that make me so thankful that my kids get to be at home, with each other and learning together. Connor chose to do his reading beside the pool today. (On a side note, Todd is calling our home school this year "Pool Side Academy") As we left the house, Collins wanted to go with him. So he grabbed her hand, got her set up in a chair and then Connor read his chapter out loud while Collins listened. So sweet! After this we got Collins her own book and she spent some time "reading" as well.
