Good-bye

Well, it is hard to believe that I am writing this, but our family is leaving Kanakuk. We don't yet know where we are headed or what we will be doing, but we are praying diligently and trusting God in this time of unknown. We have had so many people rally to support us with their love and prayers. What a blessing it  is to have Christian community. Here is an email that Todd sent out to the Kanakuk staff earlier this week.

Hello friends!

I have been wanting to tell everyone myself, but we just told our kiddos yesterday. Word travels faster than I like! So I'll give you the short version, but feel free to ask me for more information anytime.

The Rapps are leaving Kanakuk. I love this place, believe in this place, and will continue to support this place with all my heart for as long as I live. I could never pay Kamp (Joe, DJ, and you) back for the PRIVILEGE of being a part of this place for 30 summers! With great joy at seeing lives transformed, I have tried and tried year after year to say thanks and pay Kamp back. I thank God for Ward and his heart to help me with my giftings at K-West and now to use my giftings in another realm of life yet to be determined. It excites me, knowing that it is God who is at work; to will and to act for His good purpose. Though I am sad to leave, I am thrilled that God has given me this opportunity - the privilege to trust Him in this time. All those "trust God" Scriptures finally mean something significant to Bronwyn and me, and I am so thankful for this.

We'll be around for a couple of months and our kids are privileged to get to be Kampers this summer, so we'll be seeing you.

  1. I am so proud of you all and excited for you all and I know that, even though leaving Kanakuk is hard, this will be a big blessing in the long run. I pray for your family daily and I cannot to see where this journey takes you all! Love you!
