Great news about Holden Elijah!

Todd just called the NICU to get an update on Holden. I am headed up there this afternoon, but we wanted to check on him before I got there. We spoke with his nurse Maggie and were filled with joy at the report she gave us.

  • Holden's breathing is stronger. He is even beginning to breathe over the ventilator at times.
  • They will now only be testing his glucose once every 12 hours. It had been more often that that.
  • They no longer need to weigh his diapers. I think that means that he is peeing well and regularly.
  • The best news is that they are going to begin giving him milk - though it is still through a feeding tube. His first feeding will be today at 1:30. We thought they wouldn't begin to feed him till Monday or Tuesday at the earliest.
I am going to be there for his first feeding. I can't wait!
So glad we can share this great news about our son.
