Sweet Big Sister

Today I took Holden and Collins to the doctor's office. They were both due for a well-check visit and it was our first time with this new pediatrician. The kids did great, but the appointment ended with shots. One immunization for Collins and four shots for Holden. Collins was first. She cried hard after her shot. When it was time for Holden's shots, the nurse told me that she didn't need my assistance holding on to Holden so I could stay with and comfort Collins. As soon as the first shot went in Holden's leg, he began to cry. Collins's reaction was priceless. She quit crying about her own pain and started talking to him: "I know it hurt. It OK baby. I sorry baby Holden. Momma, baby crying." She was so concerned for her little brother. The nurse who was administering the shots couldn't believe it. She said, "Wow, she is amazing." It was a sweet demonstration of Collins's empathy and love for baby Holden.
