Happy Happy Happy

Overall, the doctor was very encouraged by what she saw in the EEG and MRI. I was happy happy happy!!!  We received a second update when I went to the hospital this afternoon and the doctor communicated to me the results from the MRI.  It showed a small hemorrhage in a spot similar to what a premature baby might have. The doctor doesn't anticipate any long-term effects from such a small hemorrhage!
Also, there is a little area in the thalamus that shows slight hyper-intensity, which is typical of babies born during a traumatic delivery such as Holden's.  It is just a tiny area which may or may not affect him long-term.  Babies born in families that have great interaction with parents tends to help, and other parts of brain can sometimes compensate.  No one can predict the future, but the present looks remarkably better than the past!!
The IV comes out tomorrow and we should be able to hold Holden.
He will continue to get some medication, phenobarbital, orally to reduce the chance of seizures.
Thank you a zillion times over for your prayers offered in faith for Holden. What a testimony to the Lord this little man has, and will have.
The picture below was taken tonight at about 6:15. I didn't want to leave him. He was looking right at me, and we held hands while I sang to him and prayed with him. It broke my heart to have to leave his side.  It is as if he is begging me to take him with me, though I'm sure he isn't. I told him how thankful I am that he is alive. Glory to the ONLY GOD, who is worthy of all praise. Giver of Life, Prince of Peace, unceasing in His mercy and grace.
